Day 7: Bethlehem, the Birthplace of Jesus

Today, Heavenly USA took a trip across the border into Bethlehem, Palestine. We visited the Church of Nativity and the Chapel of St. Catherine. It is said that this church is built over the cave in which Jesus was born. We had the opportunity to go down to that cave and touch his manger and location of his birth. We also went to the Church of Shepherd's Field, which is where the shepherds were told of Jesus' coming by angels.

Watching the scenery as we were driving back to Jerusalem and witnessing the result of the conflicts in the Middle East, we were reminded of God's heart who longs for the reconciliation of his children. The wall that separates Bethlehem from Israel motivates us to continue our effort to bring peace and unity across the world.

Tomorrow, we will be spending the day in Yafo!
