Day 3: The Garden of Gethsemane

Peace be with you!

Today, Heavenly USA had a packed day in the Old City of Jerusalem, starting off with visiting the Garden of Gethsemane. We all took some time to pray in the field of olive trees, one of which was established as a Holy Ground by the late Rev. Sun Myung Moon, representing the unity of all religions. The nail that he planted into that tree is still visible today, 50 years later.

Soon after, we went to two different sites: the Church of Mary Magdalene and the All Nations Church, to also pray at the rock that Jesus had prayed. The later afternoon consisted of a short stop at the birthplace of the Virgin Mary and the Holy Sepulchre. Here, we could witness the place where Jesus’ body was laid after his crucifixion. We finished our time in the Old City with some Israeli food in a local restaurant. Going into the next day, we are anticipating another day of experiencing Jesus’ footsteps!
